The Kittyface BC183L Silicon is kittycasterFX’s envisionment of the classic Dallas Arbiter Fuzz Face, reimagined for today’s players. First made legendary by Jimi Hendrix, this iconic circuit has shaped the sound of generations of players — from blues-rock icons to sonic experimentalists pushing the limits of fuzz.

The original Fuzz Face was deceptively simple: a handful of components, including germanium transistors, created its unmistakable warm, woolly, and harmonically rich fuzz tones. But it was also wildly temperamental—prone to temperature sensitivity, voltage quirks, and inconsistent performance from unit to unit.

Enter the Kittyface. We’ve taken inspiration from the legendary circuit while eliminating the historical inconsistencies that came with it. Outfitted with silicon transistors instead of germanium, the Kittyface delivers a more stable, roadworthy fuzz while maintaining the raw, expressive character that made the original so beloved.

We also expanded the tonal palette with four precision controls—Volume, Fuzz, Bias, and Input — giving players more ways to sculpt their sound than the original circuit ever allowed.
